Access Data widens its eligibility criteria

We’re thrilled to announce that we are widening the criteria of our Access Data Service, which will help us support even more individuals in gaining or improving knowledge and skills related to the world of data. As of April, a person is eligible for the Access Data programme (including our IT/data courses) if they:

  • Live in Edinburgh (EH1-EH17 and EH28-EH30) and are unemployed or on a low income.
  • Want to move into education, training or employment that is related to IT or data.
  • Belong to at least one of the following groups: have a disability or learning difficulty; are a woman; are an Armed Forces veteran; from a minority ethnic background.

Our Access Data Coordinator, Magda Gucman, says:
We are delighted that we are able to make this positive change in Access Data criteria happen, as we had received many signals that various other groups than the ones we targeted so far could benefit from our programme. A wider variety of participants will be able to access our support, including our data-related courses, and start building a solid skill set that corresponds to the needs of the contemporary job market. We are thrilled to be able to help so many more on their way to securing better employment.

We would like to invite anyone interested in learning more about the Service to an Open Day on Wednesday 27 April (various timeslots available) in our Cowgate Community College (156 Cowgate, EH1 1RP). This is a great chance to get to know us and learn more about what we do, as well as get answers to any project-related questions. Both professionals and prospective clients are welcome.

You can register for the event here.
