Our Access Photography course offers students the opportunity to learn an integrated, hands-on approach to Digital Photography. Participants learn a range of key skills, including basic camera techniques, image manipulation and digital manipulation.
The course is delivered in partnership with Edinburgh College and is designed for unemployed students from disadvantaged backgrounds who may require support to maintain a college place. It offers progression on to a range of related courses at Edinburgh College.
The course requires less than 16 hours a week attendance and should not affect benefit entitlement. Participants are provided with support to help them with any issues they may face in or outside of college.
The course is free, but eligibility criteria may apply. Financial support may be available through Edinburgh College. There are no formal qualifications needed for this course, but a positive attitude, good work ethic and an interest in the subject area are essential.
Participants must be of working age and not currently in education or employment. They must also meet other specific entry requirements. Contact us, or speak to your Caseworker for more details.
The course usually runs annually from the end of January, one day a week, for 16 weeks. Recruitment opens December 2024 (for January 2025).
The course provides a good grounding in Photography. It also offers guaranteed interviews for the Higher Photography course at Edinburgh College’s Sighthill Campus.
Delivered in person, in our Community College (156 Cowgate, EH1 1RP), by a dedicated Edinburgh College tutor.
