Our Creative Writing course aims to spark participants’ imagination and creativity. It teaches a range of creative writing skills and helps participants to express themselves in a number of different ways, such as through poems, stories or letters. Students learn how to write narrative stories in a chosen genre and how to describe events from varied points of view.
Overall, the course helps participants to improve their communication skills and boosts their confidence in how they express themselves. Students can also achieve creative writing qualifications at various levels – SQA units in Creative Writing at SCQF levels 4 or 6.
The course is delivered in partnership with Edinburgh College and is designed for unemployed students from disadvantaged backgrounds who may require support to maintain a college place. It offers progression on to a range of related courses at Edinburgh College.
Participants must be of working age and not currently in education or employment. They must also meet other specific entry requirements. Contact us, or speak to your Caseworker for more details.
The course runs periodically, usually one day a week. Future dates: 21 January-18 March 2025.
