In partnership with GTG Training, Access to Industry are delighted to be offering a new course aimed at providing young people who have a keen interest in mechanics with a pathway into the industry. It will help them to expand their knowledge and skill sets, gain real practical experience, and build lasting relationships with employers.
Students on the course will be supported by a dedicated Caseworker throughout, who will then continue to support them with progressing onto positive destinations within their chosen field once the course is completed.
Students will achieve a City and Guilds SCQF Level 4 Award in ‘Introduction to Vehicle Systems Maintenance’. Students will also achieve an Adult Achievement Award. There is the potential for students to progress onto an apprenticeship or a work placement in a garage or auto-trader.
Young people aged 16-24, living in Edinburgh, and experiencing barriers to education and/or employment. They must be currently unemployed and not in education or training.
The course usually runs two days a week over a four-week period. Future dates TBC.
