Tell us a little about you?
I am a practicing Beauty Therapist with Premier Aesthetics and an experienced college lecturer. I cover all aspects of beauty, but specialise in advanced therapies – fillers, Botox, PDO threads, chemical peels, etc.
When did your career in beauty start?
I have been in the beauty industry for 29 years! I started when I was 17 years old, opened a salon, then decided to move into teaching, which I have been doing for 15 years. I presently teach in a private Academy and work in the industry.
What’s your favourite thing about working with the Access to Industry students?
I enjoy working with Access to Industry’s students – it’s great to see them working through hurdles and achieving goals. I love watching them grow and flourish.
What changes do you see in the young people as they learn new skills?
There is so much pressure put on young people to be a certain ‘way’. I believe social media has a big part to play in this. When they start to learn and see themselves progress, you can actually see the change in them. The pressure they put on themselves starts to ease and they allow themselves to be more open to learning.
What’s your desert island beauty product?
It would definitely be moisturiser – I couldn’t live without it!
