New SMART Recovery Meeting in Dundee

Our Access Recovery Dundee service will each week host a SMART Recovery Meeting on Friday morning (10:30am-11:30am) in St Mary’s Community Centre. The meeting is open to anyone over 18 years with an addictive behaviour, including both substance and alcohol.

The SMART programme – Self-Management and Recovery Training – sees trained facilitators lead a mutual support group on topics of: building and maintaining motivation; coping with urges and cravings; managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; and living a balanced life.

Using evidence-based tools and techniques, the meeting focuses on addressing addictive behaviour to help participants concentrate on the present and set goals for the future.

Our Mid & East Lothian Recovery service will also start a programme of SMART Recovery Meetings from September, for existing students, running on Tuesdays at Dalkeith Welfare Hall (12:30pm, from 3 September) and Thursdays at MECA (1:30pm, from 5 September).
