This February we’re joining in with Time to Talk Day (2 February), run by See Me, with Scottish Association for Mental Health. It aims to facilitate conversations on mental health, by inviting individuals to make space in their day for a conversation about how they’re feeling.
On the morning of Thursday 2 February we’ll be hosting a ‘Tea & Talk’ session (10am-11am) for staff and students – we’ll have an informal chat (facilitated by a conversation starter game), a game of mental health bingo, quizzes, and, of course, biscuits.
One of our Caseworkers has also set up a Wellbeing Station in our Common Room area (pictured below), featuring support guides, worksheets, creative crafting ideas, and a box of relaxing CDs. We’ll keep the station active for all of February, for our students to access throughout the month.
As well as offering 1:1 Caseworker support to everyone who engages with us, we also offer a number of Courses aimed directly at improving mental health and wellbeing: Living Life To The Full; Mindfullness-Based Living; Improving Wellbeing; Wellbeing Through Photography; and a new Friday Wellbeing course for young people run in co-operation with the Rock Trust.
