Access to Industry’s Certificate Ceremony 2022!

Our Certificate Ceremony 2022 took place on Tuesday 28 June in the grand surrounds of St Cecilia’s Hall (pictured), bringing together nearly 120 people to celebrate the students from across our various courses and groups who achieved this year.

For 21/22, we awarded 197 individual certificates (this includes students awarded in-person on the day, and those awarded but unable to attend). The courses awarded were: Access Photography; Access Data; Digital Media; English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), AI Beauty (which includes Access Beauty and Beauty Basics); as well as various Community College classes, plus some special achievement awards for those who shone extra brightly this year.

We were lucky to have a selection of student speakers on the day, both live and via video recording, who delivered passionate and affecting speeches about their personal journeys and what Access to Industry has meant to them.

We were also thrilled to award Partner of the Year to St Cecilia’s Hall, an exciting new partner who provided us with such a special venue in which to mark our first in-person ceremony since 2019, and with whom we have also worked with on various projects – including our Wikipedia Workshops, which delivered training on how Wikipedia works.

Adele Hill and Sally McGreevy, Access to Industry’s Co-Chief Executives, said:
‘We were very happy to be able to be back in-person awarding our students’ wonderful achievements, and the setting couldn’t have been better than the beautiful historic surrounds of St Cecilia’s Hall. Everyone has worked so hard this year – Students, Lecturers, and Caseworkers alike – and we feel very proud to have offered so many educational courses that have made a difference to peoples’ lives by giving them key training and qualifications. It’s been a year not without its challenges, as we continued to navigate the restrictions impacting the way people learn, but to be able to award the students in-person with a certificate meant a lot. Congratulations to everyone involved!
