Unrestricted and free-form Creative Writing course that engages with a number of facilitators/organisations to provide material to inspire, from which the student can then create what they wish. Students will learn how to plan, structure and write to a given brief and learn how to communicate with others on group activities to ensure that the brief is met.
Students will also learn how to assess the content and style of their writing and edit it to convey the message they wish to achieve, whilst conforming to length goals or restrictions.
Holistic and therapeutic in its approach, the course will help attendees to feel less isolated; encourage them to integrate into – and work as – a group; and foster an increase in confidence, self-worth and self-expression.
Participants must be eligible for support with an Access to Industry Service. Contact us, or speak to your Caseworker for more details.
The course runs periodically, usually one day a week. Current dates: 21 January-18 March 2025.
Students will be inspired without restriction, whilst learning how to plan, structure and write to a given brief.
Delivered in person, in our Community College (156 Cowgate, EH1 1RP) and various closeby partner venues.
