Our Creative Writing with Edinburgh College course encourages self-expression and creativity. Learners will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of the creative possibilities of language and learn how to express themselves in different written forms.
It teaches a range of creative writing skills, such as poems, stories and letters. Students learn how to write narrative stories in a chosen genre and how to describe events from varied points of view.
Overall, the course helps participants to improve their communication skills and boosts their confidence in how they express themselves. Upon completion, students will receive the qualification SQA Creative Writing SCQF 4.
The course is delivered in partnership with Edinburgh College and is designed for unemployed students from disadvantaged backgrounds who may require support to maintain a college place. It offers progression on to a range of related courses at Edinburgh College.
Participants must be eligible for support with an Access to Industry Service. Contact us, or speak to your Caseworker for more details.
The course runs periodically, usually one day a week. Current dates: 27 January-9 June 2025.
