SQA-certificated course covering practical skills and key knowledge around data and using spreadsheet. You will learn the basic features of Microsoft Excel and gain hands-on experience of using it. You will learn the correct terms for the various parts of a spreadsheet. The course has a particular emphasis on using web applications, although this is not exclusive and desktop apps can be used. It is designed for the beginner who wants to learn how to use spreadsheet safely and productively.
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to help you use spreadsheets on a computer and other computing devices such as tablets and smartphones, along with gaining knowledge and skills in creating simple spreadsheets and implementing practical solutions using a range of basic features. You will also be introduced to the sharing facilities provided by contemporary cloud services.
The course will cover: Introduction to data skills using Excel; Analysing data and using spreadsheet tools and techniques to summarise and display information; Creating Graphs and Charts.

Offers hands-on, practical skills around data and using spreadsheets, leading to an SQA Data Skills SCQF 4. It also offers progression onto a range of courses, including: Introduction to Data Science (NPA Data Science, level 4) and various data-related mainstream college courses.
