We’re thrilled to welcome Smitha to the Access to Industry team, as our new Administrator. Before landing the role, Smitha completed one of our Access Data courses – Introduction to Digital and Data Skills – at Edinburgh College. Here’s a little more about her…

Tell us a little about you?
My name is Smitha. I am from India and I have lived with my family in Edinburgh for over a decade. I am working as an Administrator with Access to Industry and enjoy meeting people from diverse backgrounds.

You completed one of our Access Data courses before getting this role – how was that?
I would highly recommend the Access Data course, as it helps learners gain and develop essential IT and data skills which are crucial for today’s workplace. Every session is very interactive as it is classroom-based training, with ongoing tutor feedback. It has helped me acquire skills that I can put to practice at my workplace.

What are you enjoying most about AI?
The most important thing that I like about AI is that my colleagues are friendly, supportive and always ready to help!

How would you describe AI to someone who doesn’t know us yet?
AI is a dynamic and supportive organisation that assists individuals to overcome barriers towards education and employment.

When and how are you most happy?
In my spare time, I like to keep up with the news, possibly watch a few films and spend time with my family. My kids make me happy the most!
