Young People’s Summer Art Group – Art Showcase

We are so proud of the work that was produced during our young people’s Art Group during July – as part of our EdinMe Service’s summer activities – that we thought we’d share a glimpse of what they produced.

The young people tried their hand at Mono Printing, Lino Printing, Riso Printing, and Screenprinting (onto t-shirts), enthusiastically getting stuck in with each printing practice and producing some beautiful pieces of art.

The sessions were led by Beth Farmer, a practising artist and creative facilitator, who specialises in facilitating spaces for people to come together to engage in artmaking, through the design and delivery of arts programmes to school and community-based groups. She has extensive experience leading projects which support marginalised groups and communities.

Beth says:
It was a pleasure to facilitate the young people’s Art Group as part of the EdinMe summer programme. The young people immediately engaged in the activities and chatted with each other during the sessions, and grew in confidence each week they attended. They approached each activity with enthusiasm and were open to trying new techniques. Some fabulous artwork was created by the young people over the sessions, with each one working on a theme based on their personal interests. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with such a great group of young people!
