Access Data courses for 2026 now open!

Recruitment is now open for next year’s SQA-accredited, fully-funded Access Data courses, starting in February 2026! Our new offering comprises:

Introduction to Data Skills (SCQF 3): Helps learners to gain and develop essential digital and data skills by using a range of digital devices, software applications and tools. The focus of the course is to equip the participants with the fundamental skills in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge around data.

Introduction to Data Science with Excel (SCQF 4): The field of Data Science combines digital and data skills, specific knowledge about a particular topic or subject area, and numeracy skills to extract insights and knowledge from data. It is all about how we turn those insights extracted from data into actions.

Prior to the course start all participants will be asked to register with Access to Industry’s Access Data programme (Access Data eligibility criteria applies – see here). All participants will also be supported by Access Data caseworkers, who can help them to tackle any issues in and out of the course and provide wider employability support.

To apply for any of the courses, candidates should fill out the Access Data Courses Application Form here. Being able to understand and fill out the online form will be treated as part of the recruitment process. The applications stage will be followed by short interviews to further assess course suitability.

Delivered with Data Education in Colleges and funded as part of the Data Skills Gateway programme.
