Local Investigations

What

Want to learn some new skills and achieve a qualification? A good starting point is the Local Investigations course. The attraction of this course is that you choose the subject you would like to research and you direct your own learning.

The course is an exciting opportunity to uncover either aspects of the past, an area of historical interest, or people from the past. Past students have studied topics such as the Dark Side of Edinburgh; and characters from the past like Burke and Hare; Deacon Brodie; and Dr Miranda Barry. The challenge is to find a little known piece of the past and discover more.

Who

Open to all Access to Industry students. External candidates must be eligible for one of Access to Industry's services.

When

The course runs periodically, usually one day a week. NOT CURRENTLY RECRUITING.

Why

A chance to learn some new skills and achieve a qualification, all tailored to learning and researching something that interests you.
