Recruitment is now open for our next batch of Qualifications Scotland-accredited, fully-funded Access Data courses, starting in August 2026! Our new offering comprises:

Introduction to Data Skills (SCQF 3): Helps learners gain and develop essential digital and data skills essential for life and work, by using a range of digital devices, software applications and tools. The focus of the course is to equip the participants with the fundamental skills in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge around data, however, it also encourages learners to develop self-management skills, social intelligence and innovation. Suitable for all learners.

Introduction to Data Science with Excel (SCQF 4): Supports learners in combining digital and data skills, specific knowledge about a particular topic or subject area, and numeracy skills to extract insights and knowledge from data. The ability to identify the problem to solve, the correct data to use, carry out the analysis and then implement the outcome requires the three abovementioned areas. Increasingly employers are seeking applicants with experience of Data Science – using the skills from this short course will help you to develop in your current or future job role.

Before the course begins, all participants must register for Access to Industry’s Access Data programme, which provides course access and a dedicated caseworker for course-related support and broader employability assistance, including CV writing, job applications, and interview prep.

To apply for any of the courses, candidates should fill out the Access Data Courses Application Form on the below link. Being able to understand and fill out the online form will be treated as part of the recruitment process. The applications stage will be followed by short interviews to further assess course suitability.

Delivered with Data Education in Colleges and funded as part of the Data Skills Gateway programme.
