New Genealogy summer course!

We're excited to announce a brand new course which will run during our summer term – Genealogy! The course is aimed at anyone who is interested in researching their own family tree, or, for those who don't want to research their own family tree, there's the option to research historical figures in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

The course will include training and research in-house at our Cowgate office, as well as various trips to places of interest and research – including the National Records of Scotland; the Scottish Genealogy Society; and the Historial Environment Scotland Archives and Library (see poster and schedule below):

The course will run on Thursday mornings, 2 July-20 August 2026, with the option of an additional week for anyone interested in gaining an official SVQ Adult Achievement Award (level 4).

Recruitment will be via interview, to help us understand your research target so we can best plan for how to help you achieve your goals. Participants must be registered for one of Access to Industry's support services.
